Centro studi e documentazione Seveso (MB)
Il progetto riguarda la sede di una fondazione per l’ambiente, in una città coinvolta da ricordi ed emozioni risalenti al 1976 quando la fuoriuscita di una nube tossica contenente diossina dalla fabbrica della Icmesa cambiò per sempre il nostro rapporto con le industrie prossime alle città e sopra- tutto contaminò in maniera massiccia la natura e il terreno circostante. Proprio la “terra” è il valore simbolico del progetto. Il progetto vuole esaltare il suolo con le sue crepe e le sue spaccature , immortalare il momento della tragedia, in cui tutto si frantuma, ma allo stesso tempo indicare la strada per il futuro con la nuova sede del Centro Studi e Documentazione di Seveso. Questa ricerca ha trovato spunti e scavato nell’opera di Alberto Burri ed i materiali usati e consumati della sua arte. La piazza, da un lato, ed il torrente Seveso, dall’altro, sono i due limiti alla forza rigeneratrice rilasciata dal nuovo edificio il quale si erge dalla terra creando fratture e cretti di energia, nuova linfa naturale, nuova energia. Il nuovo edificio è quindi un elemento materico, al tempo stesso rigoroso e funzionale, capace di porsi senza retorica come elemento fondatore, monolite di terra a significare e ricordare. Anche lo spazio pubblico intorno è realizzato come se si trattasse di “suolo”, e per questo sia l’edificio che l’intorno sono stati progettati utilizzando nuove tecnologie costruttive per raggiungere l’obiettivo sopra enunciato. Importante rilevanza simbolica ma anche strutturale, impiantistica ed architettonica assume nel progetto la torre dell’energia fotovoltaica, elemento che costituisce un segno forte e rappresentativo.

The project concerns the construction of a foundation for the environment, in a city affected by memories and emotions dating back to 1976 when the release of a toxic cloud containing dioxin from the factory of the Icmesa changed forever our relationship with the indu- stries close to the cities and especially heavily contaminated nature and the surrounding land. The “earth” is the symbolic value of the project. The project aims to enhance the ground with its cracks and cracks, immortalize the moment of tragedy, in which everything is shattered, but at the same time indicate the way for the future with the new headquarters of the Centro Studi e Documentazione di Seveso. This research has found inspiration and excavated in the work of Alberto Burri and the materials used and consumed in his art. The square, on the one hand, and the Seveso torrent, on the other, are the two limits to the regenerative force released by the new building which rises from the ground creating fractures of energy, new natural sap, new energy. The new building is therefore a material element, at the same time rigorous and functional, able to place itself without rhetoric as a founding element, earth monolith to signify and remember. Even the surrounding public space is realized as if it were “ground”, and for this reason, both the building and the surroundings were designed using new construction technologies to achieve the above-mentioned objective. Important symbolic but also structural, plant and architectural importance in the project assumes the tower of photovoltaic energy, an element that is a strong and representative sign.
